Paul Oz - the early years

Despite his passion for art, at 18, Paul Oz was led down an academic path to study an Aerospace Engineering degree, which only delayed the inevitable. Once he began working, Paul Oz found himself painting at weekends to give himself a break from the day job as a software brand developer.

His style of painting has been a natural progression, admitting he is not a ‘textbook artist’ but that his “entire aim is for visual impact, to capture characters in a unique way that blows your socks off and to elicit a response something along the lines of ‘woooohhhhaaa!’” Paul Oz’s first painting was a simple abstract, still including his signature splats and thick textures, which has developed into the style we know and love today.

Life as an artist

In 2010, Paul Oz took to painting full-time. His career has been a huge success with collectors around the globe, including Jenson Button, Sir Alex Ferguson, hip hop/grime artist Wretch 32 and Theo Paphitis. Paul Oz has also been commissioned to paint Bruno Mars to mark his 24k Magic World tour, by Sir Bradley Wiggins to celebrate his famous victory at the 2012 Olympics, by Star Trek to mark the franchise’s 50th anniversary, and by the families of late stars Ayrton Senna, James Hunt and Bruce Lee.A sports fan all his life, Paul has also had some amazing opportunities in the world of sport; he travels the world recording the flamboyance and passion of the F1 circuit, with clients including Lamborghini, Team Sky, Instituto Ayrton Senna, Red Bull, Monster Energy and Pirelli. He also features in every F1 Paddock Club around the world!Paul Oz is also a proud supporter of various charities, including Great Ormond Street Hospital and It’s In the Bag, the testicular cancer charity of which he became patron after a close friend survived the disease. He has also auctioned off work in support of Covid Charities.
