Born and raised in Newcastle, Leigh Lambert’s work is known for capturing the nostalgic tales of his Northern roots and stories of honest childhood play which takes the viewer back to yesteryear. Inspired by the tales his childhood memories and stories from his parents and grandparents about Newcastle, Leigh Lambert and monochromatic paintings have become a firm favourite at the Artmarket Gallery. The Early Years

A ‘Northern lad done good,’ Leigh began to draw at the tender age of five with an incredible eye for detail. At 18, when Leigh Lambert was leaving school, he was eager to immerse himself in the world of art but his mother found a job for Leigh in a local factory. This motivated Leigh even further, using the evenings and weekends to paint and fine tune his technique. The rest, as they say, is history.
