Known for her captivating "Bo-Men" sculptures, Daisy's art has found resonance globally, adorning public spaces across Europe and as far as Singapore.
The Artmarket Gallery proudly represents Daisy Boman in the UK, supplying her sought-after creations to collectors worldwide. This journey wasn’t just about acquisition—it was an enriching experience filled with artistic dialogue, stunning Flemish vistas, and heartfelt hospitality.
Daisy Boman's Iconic Bo-Men Sculptures
Daisy Boman’s sculptures, affectionately called "Bo-Men," are profoundly unique. Their facelessness is a subtle yet compelling invitation to look beyond physical appearance and perceive their deeper essence. Often displayed in groups, these sculptures emphasise collective goals, belonging, unity, human trust, and togetherness—each figure equal and only distinguished by their inner desire for change. They convey a powerful message of community and interconnectedness, making them universally relatable.
Arrival and Artful Encounters
Michelle and Robert began their adventure at Daisy Boman’s captivating studio in Belgium. Welcomed warmly by Daisy, they experienced firsthand the inspiration behind her iconic Bo-Men sculptures, famous for their delicate yet powerful representations of human interactions and existential musings.
Daisy's artwork, characterised by the gentle yet profound narrative of small, clay figures—the Bo-Men—captures universal themes of connectivity, identity, and human experience. Her sculptures grace prominent international collections and public installations, making Daisy one of the most romanticised contemporary artists of our time.
A Culinary Interlude in Geel
Following their studio visit, Daisy and her husband, Ludo, hosted Michelle and Robert at the renowned Brasserie Flore, situated in the charming market square of Geel. The sunny afternoon lunch was delightful, with a seasonal specialty menu featuring succulent salmon accompanied by fresh, local asparagus—a true taste of Flanders.
To complement this vibrant meal, the group enjoyed refreshingly crisp Leffe beer alongside Italian Virgin Aperol Spritz, offering an authentic and leisurely Belgian dining experience. The warm camaraderie and delightful conversation, shared over good food and fine drinks, perfectly encapsulated the spirit of artistic and personal friendship.
Flemish Charm in Knokke
As their journey continued, Michelle and Robert soaked in the allure of the Flemish seaside at Knokke, choosing the elegant La Reserve hotel for an overnight stay. Renowned for its serene beauty and luxurious comfort, La Reserve provided a perfect backdrop for reflecting on the artistic treasures collected during the visit.
Artworks Packed and Ready for Their New Home
The collection from Daisy Boman consisted of six distinctive wall sculptures and three exquisite tabletop pieces. Carefully wrapped and secured, the Bo-Men artworks filled the Artmarket Gallery’s Mercedes Vito van, a testament to the exclusive nature and value of these pieces.
After packing the precious sculptures, the team headed towards Europoort Rotterdam, ready for their journey home aboard the Pride of Hull, operated by P&O Ferries. Sailing smoothly back to Kingston upon Hull's King George Dock, the artworks journeyed safely to their new temporary home at the Artmarket Gallery.
