Artmarket Showcases Ronnie Wood Originals

Cottingham gallery showcases art of rock icon Ronnie Wood. November 2014.The new collection Raw Instinct includes portraits of bandmates Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Keith Richards. It also features paintings of hand-written song lyrics, colourful landscapes, and a guitar signed by the musician.Robert Power, The Artmarket Gallery’s owner, said: “We are delighted that we can welcome people to this viewing of Ronnie Wood’s fantastic artwork. Ronnie Wood’s art background also shines throughout his work, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.” Born into a musical and artistic family in 1947, Ronnie Wood has painted and drawn for over 35 years and received formal art training at Ealing College of Art.Wood comments: “There is no kind of therapy like the one you have from starting and seeing a picture through to the end.“In a secret sort of way, I like the people who I draw to see the way I’ve depicted them. Unlike music, it’s a solo effort. There’s no one else to blame.”
