David Renshaw keeps the home fires burning- with help from Ted and Doris!

His fine portrayals of cosy houses, often at sunset or dusk, with an orange glow of light shining from their windows, appeal to that part in all of us that just wants to be snuggled up by an open fire with the one we love.

And many of David’s paintings feature a couple – everyman, and everywoman, if you like – named Ted and Doris who, wrapped up against the chill and sometimes accompanied by their faithful dog, are the epitome of the most basic of pleasures – coming home. Meet them in Crimson Night, Evening Gaze and House of Love – and try and spot them (they’re a little harder to find sometimes!) in Rooftop Love and Bridge to our Love.
