Enjoy an evening of Northern Romance at the Pipe and Glass with David Renshaw

This ticket only event will take place on Wednesday 21 November. The event will offer the opportunity to meet one of the Artmarket’s favourite artists, David Renshaw, the creator of the hugely popular Ted and Doris, a couple whose heart-warming travels around the world, are known as the ‘Northern Romance’ series, each painting adorned by a heart to denote the couple’s, mutual love.

Three brand new original artworks featuring Ted and Doris and inspired by the beautiful Pipe and Glass and its surroundings will be revealed on the night by David Renshaw himself and by Artmarket director Robert Power.

Collectors will be able to choose from a range of boutique hand-embellished limited edition prints – 25 of each new painting, each one numbered and signed by David.

The prints are highly collectable: at similar events over the last couple of years, limited edition prints of paintings by two other Artmarket artists – Table For Two by Bob Barker and The Secret Pantry by Peter Smith – both sold out on the night and now sell for far higher prices – if you’re lucky enough to find one for sale!

There will also be a fun charity auction of original artwork by David Renshaw.

The menu, introduced by chef/owner of the Pipe and Glass James Mackenzie, will feature, on arrival, a delicious selection of tempting canapés – fish and chips, Yorkshire blue and onion marmalade palmiers, and pâté en croûte – followed by a little cup of game and wild mushroom broth, with a  game and juniper sausage roll.

Next, diners will enjoy beetroot and Yorkshire gin-cured salmon, served with crème fraîche, crab croquette, pickled cucumber and dill.

The main course features ox cheek braised in Two Chefs ale, a beer specially developed by James and his old friend Andrew Pern, accompanied by marrowbone potato, crispy onion and anise carrots.

To finish, a festive-sounding white chocolate and semi-dried cranberry bread and butter pudding, with a spiced clementine suzette and cardamom custard – well, it is getting close to Christmas!

And if there ’s s till the tiniest gap left, enjoy coffee and Pipe and Glass sweet treats. To read and see more about the wonderful Pipe and Glass click here.
