Il Fascino Ferrari a Taschen book set to be a classic

Aficionados of the cavallino rampante – the famous prancing black horse which adorns the ultimate luxury car, the Ferrari – are queuing up worldwide to get their hands on a rare and unique book celebrating the 70th anniversary of the marque.

And the Artmarket is delighted to be able to offer its customers the chance to pre-order a copy now, with delivery in October.

Il Fascino Ferrari (it means ‘the charm of Ferrari’, but rather loses in the translation, we feel!) is a remarkable publication from high-end art publishers TASCHEN chronicling the distinguished history of the Italian brand.

The magnificent book gives the reader unrestricted access to hundreds of photographs and illustrations from the Ferrari Archives and private collectors, many of them previously unseen by the public.

Edited by authoritative motoring journalist Pino Allievi and enclosed in an aluminium display case designed by Marc Newson, it also features an exhaustive appendix detailing all of Ferrari’s victories since 1947.

That significant date dictates the number of the limited edition, each handcrafted, hand-stitched and bound in classic Ferrari-red leather – just 1,947 will be available, with two different options.

The Art Edition (numbers 1 to 250) is £22,500, and stands on a sculpture evocative of the 12-cylinder engine in hand-bent, flared chromed steel, also by Newson. Each is signed by Piero Ferrari, son of Ferrari founder Enzo; Sergio Marchionne, company chair and CEO; and John Elkann, chair and CEO of Ferrari’s holding company, Exor.

The Collector’s Edition (numbers 251 to 1,947) is £4,500, each signed by Piero Ferrari.

Both are available from the Artmarket Gallery whose director Robert Power says: “We fully expect the Art Edition to be sold out before buyers can get their hands on it in October, so we advise pre-ordering now!”
