Introducing - Nic Joly Never Forgotten

Nic Joly Never Forgotten This poignant and emotive miniature sculpture has been created to commemorate the centenary of Britain’s entry into World War 1 on 4th August 1914. Nic’s initial inspiration for Never Forgotten came from a poignant meeting with a ninety-six year old war veteran. With humbling nonchalance, the veteran uttered words that resonated with courage and fortitude: “We were just doing our job.” The realisation that veterans seek remembrance for the sacrifices made by fallen comrades, rather than sympathy, inspired Nic to create Never Forgotten.

Nic shared a photo of the original piece on social media, with over 28,000 people sharing the image, and many using it to comment on the bravery of those who fought, share memories of loved ones that were lost in battle and express their gratitude for the freedom we now enjoy.Recognising this opportunity, the original was auctioned for a veterans’ charity, where it raised £7,500. We are delighted to announce that we are releasing a bronze limited edition of Never Forgotten to mark the centenary of WWI. All these pieces will be hand made by Joly. The edition size is 1,566 – to mark every day the war was fought. Each sculpture is labelled by day, with the corresponding date and a small piece of information about the war on the back£100 will be donated to The Royal British Legion from the sale of every piece. The £100 consists of £50 donated by Washington Green and £50 donated by the gallery. The sale of the entire edition will raise £150,000 to help support war veterans. Launches on 4th August - the centenary of Britain’s entry into WW1.
