The city’s famous street cafés feature in many of his paintings, including Café Deguerre and Café du Eiffel, while the much-loved landmark referenced in the latter looms over Paris Blues, Meet Me in Paris and Paris Heat. Meanwhile Parisienne Stroll and Monsieur give those of us longing for a trip to France a flavour of day-to-day life in the busy city.
The globe-trotting artist says: “I used to think nothing of flying from London to Paris and straight on to New York and back in five days.”
